Basically, they want to build the largest and most detailed list of different species ever made, analysed first with machine learning, then quality-checked by ecosystem experts to show fundamental, positive changes in nature.
In theory, when this data is used as evidence of tangible improvements in biodiversity, the financial mechanisms mentioned above will become more valuable, forcing businesses, governments, and individuals to commit to protecting and restoring nature.
